Journalists are invited to a preview of the show and gain an exclusive insight before the general public are admitted. A ‘treasure hunt’ style tour means that they can pick a favourite product to talk about in their respective publications.

BEST UK SOMMELIER COMPETITION – VILLA SANDI AWARD
The audience can begin watching the judging process of the acclaimed competition at the semi-finals stage (written exams will start earlier on in the morning at the Hilton Hotel).
15.00: The final stage will take place at the Bellavita Wine Academy with just the three best sommeliers battling it out to become Bellavita’s Best UK Sommelier. Judges will include Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, CEO of Italian wine producer Villa Sandi, and his daughter Diva.
17.00: Bellavita’s Best UK Sommelier will be crowned by Mr Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, receiving a trophy and a magnum of Prosecco Villa Sandi (Cuvee Oris). Federica and Andrea from the Italian Sommelier Association will hand over the victory certificates to the winner and last year’s Best UK Sommelier Award winner Vincenzo Arnese from Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, will hand over his honorary sash.
The winner of Bellavita’s Best UK Sommelier – Villa Sandi Award will also win a trip for two with a tour of the Villa Sandi Estate, and the two nights stay in Venice, compliments of Villa Sandi.
A toast to the winners with a Magnum of Prosecco DOCG Millesimato will follow.

A look at all the different wines found in Piedmont, the northwestern corner of Italy. With the largest amount of DOCG wines out of all Italy’s regions, it boasts famous names such as Barolo and Barbaresco.

Rolling hills, bright green vegetation and an incomparable rich soil: Tuscany terroir is unique and magic. One of the most flourishing lands in Central Italy, it boasts a great variety of distinguished and notable wines.

Villa Sandi, The New Trend of Premium Prosecco
The tasting will be introduced by Shane Holland, Executive Chairman of Slow Food UK, who will also then be interviewing Villa Sandi’s Flavio Geretto. The masterclass will involve wine tasting of 5 Villa Sandi wines and speaking to some of the sommeliers and restaurant owners who have Villa Sandi in their portfolio. The sommeliers and restaurant owners at the masterclass will include representatives from Lucio, The Cavendish, BellaCosa, Little Italy and Theo Randall Restaurant.

Prosecco to London, brought to you by Villa Sandi
On the 9th July, a british cyclist will be leaving the Villa Sandi Winery carrying a bottle of Villa Sandi Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. He will be cycling 1.500 kms across Europe, arriving at his final destination – London – on July 19th. As Villa Sandi are exhibiting at Bellavita Expo, they have chosen the exhibition as their arrival point, where the cyclist will present the bottle, alongside Mr Giancarlo Moretti, Villa Sandi Chairman, on the Wine Academy stage to a chef from a London restaurant, symbolically pairing food and Prosecco. Neil Phillips, “The Wine Tipster“, will also be speaking to Mike on the Wine Academy stage upon his arrival. At 11am, Villa Sandi would love to share this momentous occasion with special guests, celebrating – with Prosecco and canapés – a special way for Prosecco to get to London and the great success of the crispy and fresh bubbles all over the UK and the charming area of the Prosecco hills. #ProseccoToLondon

Loris Propedo, The tradition of the Italian craft beer: trends
A new delicious trend, with big roots in the Italian tradition, its integral part of Italian alcohol is still gaining momentum: a currently unknown delicacy.
Throughout the show, products will be judged by a 200 strong panel of experts including top buyers, retailers, chefs and media brands. The highest ranking products will receive 1, 2 or 3 Bellavita stars, respectively, and will be announced in the final hours of Bellavita London 2016. The highest scoring product from each category (one from food and one from beverage) will each receive the Bellavita Platinum Award, as well as €5000 worth of their products bought for sale in the Bellavita Shop.
