At each Bellavita Expo, a renowned body of judges, including over 200 buyers, retailers, importers, distributors, restaurateurs, chefs, sommeliers, industry experts and journalists, taste and score the nominated products, providing their individual ranking according to 6 criteria: taste, story behind the product, packaging and branding, relevance for the local market, innovation and sustainability.

The Italian products with the highest score in the Food and Beverage categories are crowned as the Bellavita Awards Winners. Moreover, all products scoring more than 7 points receive one Bellavita Star, more than 8 two Bellavita Stars, more than 9 three Bellavita Stars.
